Final Reflection

In reflecting on my ePortfolio, I have gained a deeper understanding of the learning outcomes that I was hoping to achieve throughout the semester. By compiling my various artifacts and analyses, I was able to see how each piece contributed to my overall growth as a writer and thinker. An example being learning outcome #2, specifically in relation to my piece on Hercules, I gained valuable insights into themes of perseverance and strength. Through my analysis, I was able to connect these themes. This exploration deepened my understanding of how mythology can influence cultural narratives and artistic representations. It has not only enhanced my analytical skills but my writing too. I have learned to craft more nuanced and compelling pieces of my own that can resonate with readers on multiple levels. It has solidified my appreciation for expression and encouraged me to continue exploring themes in my writing.  The process of selecting and reflecting on my work helped me identify key themes and skills that emerged over the semester. For instance, with the Tanabata poems and learning outcome #3, I learned to appreciate the significance of cultural context in shaping literary meaning. This has not only enhanced my analytical skills but also encouraged me to consider diverse and just unique perspectives in my writing. Overall, this ePortfolio has been a valuable tool for self-assessment and reflection. It has allowed me to connect my learning experiences to the specific outcomes we discussed, reinforcing my understanding of how to effectively analyze writing pieces. This has not only improved my writing skills, but enriched my appreciation for writing, language, and culture. My ePortolio's overall setup has really helped with my reflection as it provided a structured space to showcase my work and though processes. Having all my artifacts for each learning outcome makes it easier to see my progress over time. It also encourages me to reflect on each piece and outcome individually and what I learned as a writer. All in all, the ePortfolio is not just a collection of my pieces but a tool that further shows my personal growth as a writer.
